Do different types of video games affect children?

Well i think we have all heard this argument before. Now i will admit that i myself do not like to play violent video games, my little brother on the other hand can not get enough of them.

While i like to play fifa and tiger woods, he is shouting at the tv why wont you die at some new evil alien or something. Now i have noticed that he does have a worse temper than i do.

Take for example the other day, he was home from school and wanted to get changed, i took the trousers he wanted to wear and held on tight so he could not get them. we had a laugh for two or three minutes where he was trying to get them off me and i tickled him or whatever. All of a sudden he snapped, he hit me, ripped my shoe off my foot and threw it down the stairs. Now at no point did he ask me for his trousers back. So i removed myself from the situation and went back a few minutes later to ask him to get my shoe. Well lets just say he said very impolitely 'no'. So instead of losing my head i thought ' how can i get him to get it back for me'. So i took something of his and went to my room and locked the door. Sure enough twenty minutes later there was a knock at my bedroom door. he said ' i've got your shoe can i have my ________ back.

Now i have to wonder how would he have reacted if i through his shoe down the stairs, my best guess would be that he would shout at me and call me all the names under the sun.

Another thing is that if im called by my parents and im playing a game i will say in a minute i have to pause the game. Now if my brother is called he will ignore my parents and if he is called a second time he will shout WHAT DO YOU WANT IM TRYIMG TO PLAY MY GAME. Which is usually followed by a mumbled swear word.

So do violent video games affect children more so than passive video game. Well follow the links and make your own choice on the matter. But in my opinion violent video games lead affect the mood and social development on children, which is why they come with an over 18 cert
